Google PRX creator program
The second cohort of the Google PRX creator program was announced earlier this June, and lo and behold, we have a team from India for the first time on the program.
City of Women - a pitch for a podcast about how Bangalore’s women navigate their working lives and the city through hyper-local tours of their workplaces, neighborhoods, communities, and favorite places was chosen as one of the finalists for the second cohort. The team behind the pitch are the co-hosts and producers of the popular podcast In the Field and Sea Change. Bravo Radhika and Samyuktha!
Hubhopper makes its way to more phones, and ears!
The popular audio-on-demand and podcasting platform, Hubhopper has now partnered with Indus OS the world's first Regional Smartphone Operating System. to power millions of devices from Indian cellphone manufacturers like Karbonn, Micromax, Swipe with podcasts and audio content. Another win for Hubhopper on the back of the recent tie up with Ola to make the podcasts available on Ola-play, its in-cab entertainment system.
Ep.log Media adds new shows to its network
Ep.Log media, a home grown podcast network by father-son duo, Abhijeet and Rohan Thakar, has added more shows to its roster. The latest additions include shows on personal wellbeing, travel, riding, storytelling, pets, mental health, startups, and more. The network will soon have close to 15 podcasts under its banner and is looking to grow further. Kudos team!

Music 2.0
Music 2.0, the annual 2 day music conference kicked off on the World Music day. The featured a panel discussions on some interesting aspects such as enhancing brand experiences, technology and design in music, the role of OTT platforms and the significance of regional content while connecting with local networks. Among the discussions was a panel on "Understanding The Indian Consumer, A Global Opportunity" where Gautam Anand, CEO of Hubhopper, one of India's leading podcast platforms brought out some very interesting insights and thoughts about the future of podcasting and audio.

Retro Bollywood + podcasts, now with Saregama Carvaan 2.0
Saregama, India's oldest music label launched the latest edition of its flagship portable digital music player - Carvaan 2.0. The latest edition of the music player now comes with Wifi integration that allows users to access podcasts and audio stations, along with the previously offered 5000 pre-loaded retro Hindi songs. Possibly another instance of the growing adoption (or at least attempt at adoption) of podcasts by music and audio streaming players.
